freelance stuff and contracts you should sign while taking freelance

This is one of the freelance I worked on now im allowed to show it. Its for Cryptozoic entertainment. I have done couple other work for them but they aren't out yet. Hopefully I can upload them soon. So since we are here showing our freelance stuff, I wanted to mention about contract work. This isn't something recent but from 2013. It is the time, when I was partly looking for freelance. I came across this company called sky soul. The guy I talked to his name was Justin and he seemed pretty nice. They gave me a contract for 5 pieces which means I get paid after completing all 5 pieces (please don't ever sign contract like these). Firstly, it was pretty low paid and their demands for that rate were pretty high. Even though the example he showed me weren't that good. There was a lot of fixing they asked for which is fine I guess, comes with the work turf. After completing the first piece I started with the 2nd and completed that one too. During this time I was also working at Kabam and I told this guy that I am. After he received the file for 2nd psd he just stopped contacting me for the third one. He never got back to me. I sent him like more than 10 emails or so I believe on his email, on the website info email and to some of his colleagues email. So I started looking for some artist who have worked for them. I contacted them to contact this guy on my behalf and tell him to get back to me. So two of the kind artist gladly did. He told them because I responded late one the 2nd piece ( which I already talked to him about and he okayed it) he doesn't want to work with me anymore. The artist told them whatever the reason was you should be professional and talk to her rather than ignoring the thing. He denied he got any emails from me and even though the artist told him he still didn't get back to me. I then decided it was futile to pursue this and that I should let this go. I talked to one of the artist who told me that they made them copy legend of cryptids stuff and change very minor things. So basically they were just making bad copies of the legend of cryptids cards. boooooooooooooooooooooooo The moral of the story always ask for separate contract per piece unless you really trust the client you are working for. Anyways here the piece, hope you enjoy.

I wanted to practice so I pulled it up and did some painting on top of it, about 3 to 4 hours. I always wanted to paint Aurdrey hepburn and I did!

QUICK STUDIES

I did these 1 hour quick studies and NO color picking.....or maybe I did like once.....its so tempting BUT I STOPPED MYSELF. I did these once everyday, except for the long orange one that's like 10 minutes since there was too much space in between mew!! I did lots more too ill post those tomorrow. I've been so busy work and then moving........arghhhhhhhhhhhh LIFEEE!!!! Hope everyone is awesome!!

Graduation!

I'm Finally done from school! Four years from now I started my journey at the academy of arts. Coming from Pakistan having a language barrier, culture difference, home sickness feeling, missing my friends and coming from an engineering background, let me say IT WASN'T easy AT ALL!!! However I overcame it all slowly and steadily and worked really hard to the point I got carpal tunnel which is not good. I'd like to thank all my awesome teachers for helping me, especially Craig Nelson for bearing me while I ate his brains xD. All the awesome people I met here who were and remain my inspiration thank you Evan Davies, Richard Healy, Alfredo, Hannah Stephens and Diane Wu for looking out for me yesterday when i was in lots of pain T_T thanks guys! On that note i will post my very first drawing which i did 4.5 years from today when I was about to start (I was 17 then and I was so proud of myself lol) school so everyone can have a good laugh at me, and i thought I was good. This is fanart of ff12 btw.

Also I'm working on this personal project and THIS serves as the cover page for it. I'll upload other stuff I have maybe tomrw. There are so many things I did but unfortunatly I cant post them up because they are amazingly crappy

here is a Korra Fanart i did last year! Its surprising to see how my style has changed so much since i last painted this. Anyways Im updating BECAUSE julia asked! muhahaahah here you go Julieeee!

I just keep on forgetting that I need to keep this blog up (^-^''). There are so many things that I have. Whenever I start them, I'm like I'll finish them aaaaaaaaaaaaand that day never comes. I did these in May this year but never got to finish them, hopefully this break, I can finish these. I wanted to do this portrait of Audrey Hepburn, simply because I love her and she is awesome. I was watching "The Nun's Story" with my mum and then I wanted to paint her. I took 2 photos and did the sketch from those and then started to color. Here I'm about 1 hour maybe a couple more minute in.

Then I started Korra, because I couldn't wait for the show to start and I wanted to do fanart, since I haven't done those in a long time. I started this and never finished because things were turning out really wrong. I never do characters with block ins and thats what I did here. I started this one with a block in and I confess IT WAS A BAD IDEA!!!!! she started turning out ugly and out of proportion, sooooooooooo I did a quick sketch and left it there. But I'm promising myself that as soon as this semester ends I SHALL FINISH THESE.....even though I'll be having a tons of relatives over ;-:......things are always hard for me *sniff* *sniff* lol ....Oh well back to work for me, soooooo many relatives always visiting and distracting me.

Thumbnails , isometric characters and discoveries

So here are my thumbnails.I took my sweet time with these, watching dramas, history channels, eating food and playing video games. My spring break was fun and I discovered that my neighbors are some guy who works at Pixar and some monks. The monks were awesome. One them is like a warrior monk and I'm totally gonna get him to pose for me muahahahaha. I got around to be active as well, which I think I should make a part of my daily routine and not be lazy. I think doing thumbnail is like the super fun part of making an illustration or coming up with a concept. I like doing my thumbnails in pen and ink, helps you see the big shape and design you come with around it. fun fun fun! Anyways here the 100 thumbnails and then their variations.
